Gramenon was founded in 1978 and is located in Montbrison-Sur-Lez in the most northern part of the southern Côtes du Rhône area at an altitude of 350-metres. Managed by Michèle Aubery since the passing of her husband in the late 90's, she is now assisted by her son Maxime François Laurent, a talented wine maker in his own right.

Rarely do wines of Cotes du Rhone status cause such a fervor, but the  beauty of the terroir accompanied by Michele and Maxime's skill and understanding of their surrounds creates wines of place and exceptional beauty that are eagerly awaited and enjoyed for their deft touch, purity and complexity. 

La Papesse comes from a single parcel acquired in the nineties that is almost exclusively Grenache with vines around 70 years old.

A wine that is soulful with depth and intensity whilst remaining incredibly elegant. A brooding nature in youth, the tannins balanced yet prominent, this is a real head turner that will beautifully evolve in the cellar over the next decade.
