Agnes and Didier started out in the late 80's in the small enclave of Beine, working and acquiring small holdings that now total a little over ten hectares. Didier does cary the infamous surname of Chablis, he apprenticed to Vincent in his early years, but has taken his own path, to write their own quality focused chapter that has now been carried forward by their son Florent.
These are impeccable wines of value, which is a hard thing to find in Chablis these days. A generosity of weight but with finesse, not falling into the trap of being ultra lean just for the sake of it, embracing the use of stainless steel.
From the Côte de Savant, the eastern part of the larger Premier Cru Beauroy, this was planted when Didier and Agnès first created the domaine in 1986. Lovely balance, some extra richness and depth and a real limestone tension, a mineral undertow bringing balance, honing an edge and length as it slowly recedes on the palate.
