The late, great, Alain Graillot is an undeniable star of the Northern Rhone, respected for his humility, skill and organic viticulture. He founded his domaine in Crozes-Hermitage in 1985 and rapidly became one of the most in-demand producers in the Northern Rhone for his exuberant robust and complete Syrah-based wines that come off of the alluvial plains in what was deemed a not so fashionable appellate.

Syrah from 30+ year old vines, fermented in concrete with indigenous yeast, then aged in 1-3 year old oak barrels purchased from some of the top estates in Burgundy. 

Juicy, slurpy highly drinkable syrah/shiraz that has evrything you want in spades. Juniper and five spice aromatics over velvety black cherry, red berry fruit thats lush but with poise, elegantly structured that flows to a fine finish with length and precision.

This will be delicious with a rich braise or grilled meat now that the weather is turning cooler..
