Bruno Duchene settled in the Roussillon in 2002, purchasing a vineyard that was clearly exceptional, but also impossible to work – at least with tractor, the vines he acquired were lovely terraced parcels, unsuitable for mechanised farming due to their steep slopes.
Having spent time with Fred Cossard learning the art of farming and wine making, Duchene does all his processes as minimal as possible with his wines having such a delicious drinkability to them.
This wine is quite rare since a few casks are produced per vintage and the wine is bottled only in magnums. After a cold soak of whole clusters and very light extraction this is elevaged in old oak for nine month. One thing is certain, it's seductively full-bodied with impeccable fruity quality, structured by silky tannins and with a lingering mineral finish.
