Founded in the mid 1500's, Beychevelle has been a place of culture, art and wine for centuries. These densely planted vines, set over 90 hectares, are planted over a mix of Garonne gravel and heavy clay to the four classic varieties close to the Gironde which provides a steady micro-climactic protection.

A 4th Growth Chateau since the classification of 1855, has 40% of its vines planted out to Merlot, one of the highest in Saint-Julien, bringing an elegance and poise to the power of the predominant Cabernet Sauvignon.

1982 was the first Vin de Garde since 1970, A perfect growing season and vintage conditions, letting each varietal come into its own at its time of harvest across the region. The first of a string of premiere vintages from the 1980's that really cemented Bordeaux as Frances vinous royalty.

Still in their original crate these bottles have excellent labels and fill levels very high shoulder to into the base of the neck.
