Claus Preisinger’s winery is located in Gols by Lake Neusiedlersee in Burgenland. Making wine for Claus started out as a hobby with this father, but after working with Hans Nittnaus, a neighbouring winemaker for a few years, decided that wine was his true calling.
His vineyard work is meticulous and he is deeply in touch with his land. His vines are spread across 58 parcels and are largely planted to indigenous Austrian varieties such as Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent.
The Fruitloops white is a new cuvee that has been in the planning for some time. A lightly macerated blend of aromatic varieties Riesling, Scheurebe and Furmint bursting with orange peel, lemon juice, pear and white peach with delicate florals. The texture is reminiscent of a Loire Chenin, layered and elegant but with a mineral concentration and much more serious than the name fruitloops implies.
