What started as way to extend a surfing trip through the USA has morphed into a career in winemaking that has garnered some excellent plaudits for high quality hands off wines. Working with a series of top quality fruit sources has seen a meteoric rise for this tiny label who's main cut and thrust is the Valley's staples of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
This is a single vineyard chardonnay planted out to two clones in the Upper Yarra. Tight bright and fine this is a whip through the orchard with nectarine, peach and apple blossom with a squirt of smoked butter wrapped around an energetic core and just the right show of its new oak, subtle and judicious. Some herbs and olive stones complete a picture that is impressive now but will evolve for some years yet if you really let that window open right up.
