The Mabileau family have wine making lineage in the Loire back to 1620. Frederick who the domaine is named after planted his first vines with his wife in 1988 in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil with additional holdings now in Bourgueil, Saumur and Anjou. The Domaine is now run by his wife and two sons after his passing in 2020.
The Les Rouillères Chenin Blanc comprises organic-certified fruit grown on a 0.53-hectare plot of sand and gravel over a layer of white clay.
Waxed citrus, white flowers and chalk with yellow orchard fruit and wet stone minerality running a tight line through it. This sees no oak or lees stirring creating a wine of energy, tension and purity.
