Henschke, one of Australia’s oldest family-owned wineries, has been making wine for over 150 years. The respect for history, passion and care that current custodians Prue and Stephen have continued to carry out truly makes this one of the finest estates in Australia, with some of the oldest vines in the world.

The words Hill of Grace stop wine collectors in their tracks. Coming from one of the oldest vined single site vineyards in the world, this is a benchmark wine of elegance and grace that has been in continual production since 1958.

Every year Hill of Grace and Grange go toe to toe to be crowned Australia's most iconic red wine, but for us there is no argument, single site old vines farmed organically put this in first place every time. Elegance and precision with a judicious use of oak that is 80+% French and less than a 1/3rd new make this about the fruit and site as it slowly unfurls in the glass.

2017 was a long slow ripening vintage and is on track to go down as one of the greats, it's a perfectly framed, elegant snapshot of pristine fruit, site and season. Precisely ripened berry fruits are underscored with notes of Chinese five-spice, sage, jasmine, licorice, mocha, blackberry pastille, charcuterie, wild flowers and cherry clafoutis. Pitch-perfect and elegant on the palate, the tannin-acid architecture tuned and sympatico with the pristine ancestor-vine fruit and a very long, silken finish that resonates with style and place.
