One Family, One Grape, One Place, Three Expressions.
Jean Foillard rarely ever needs an introduction, from the caviste's of France to the wine bars of New York these are wines of finesse and beauty.
We are offering these three identical yet different cuvee alongside each other as a deep dive into the similarities and the differences of these three great vineyards from one exceptional wine making family.
All three are vinified in exactly the same way, a traditional whole cluster fermentation for 3-4 weeks and aged for 6-9 months in used burgundy barrels (Corcelette uses a foudre also).
The difference is the soil type, vine age and vineyard size.
Morgon Cote du Py : 10-90 year old vines on Schist, Granite, Manganese 8.6Ha
Morgon Cuvee Corcelette: 80 year old vines on Sandstone 8.6Ha
Morgon Les Charmes Eponym: 45-50 year old vines Schist, Granite, Manganese 1.5Ha from the highest altitude lieu-dit in the entire appellation.
Beaujolais brilliance with burgundy sensibility.
