Founded in 1911 the J J Prum estate is seen as one of the greatest and most consistent of not only the famed middle Mosel but the entire country.
Occupying a prime stretch of vineyards all adjoining each other on the same river bank, the similar yet unique soil profiles producers wines of fine structure, immense beauty and supreme age worthiness. Always brightly aromatic and distinct of each site from dry through to richer expressions these are wines of detail and grace that are a must for any collection.
Graacher Himmelreich directly borders the infamous Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard to its south. The wines from this site often often challenge those from its more famous neighbour with their racy acidity, a pronounced minerality and are deliciously mouth-watering when young. Flinty and fine of fruit, aspects of smoke and pithy grapefruit citrus underscored by a herbal line of acidity. White flowers rule the nose, dragging you in for a truely fine glass from an exceptional year.
Another fine example of the exceptional vintage that 2020 is and proof that such a classic estate under the expert skill of Katerina is still setting the pace for what premium German riesling is and should be.
