Lelarge Pugeot is a generational wine producing family in the Montaign de Reims, Vrigny to be precise, where the main part of their harvest is Pinot Meunier. Working completely in organics and biodynamics they are one of about 30 producers in the champagne region to do so.

The estate maintains 8.7 hectares on calcareous, clay loam and sandy soils. The vineyard is planted with 4.4 hectares of Meunier, 1.5 hectares of Chardonnay and 2.8 hectares of Pinot Noir.

This is a vinous champagne, 100% Pinot Meunier, having spent 4 years on lees before being disgorged in 2018, minimal dossage sees this with plenty of thrilling acidity underneath its gastronomic notes. Layers of pastry and pomaceous fruits, citrus curds and a wisp of vanilla but not sweet, poised and savoury this is drawn to food yet a delicious contemplative glass on its own.
