Roberto Oliván is the force behind Tentenublo, a fourth generation grape farmer of the area that is the first in his family to bottle under his own label.
He is one of the growing number of winemakers who are much more interested in making compelling wines of interest than large volumes through a cooperative system. The altitude of the Roberto's vineyards really do help inform the style of his wines bringing a cool fineness to his production.
The Los Corrillos Blanco is made from Malvasía Riojana (Alarije), Jaén Blanca, Viura, it has plenty of colour from a short 5 day maceration but doesnt drink like a skin contact wine. Plenty of aromatic spices, quince, almond and honey and a pure streak of tense natural acidity. Showing exceedingly well now but will be excellent to see it unfurl with a few more years in bottle. Exciting stuff.
