Tessa Brown, winemaker and viticulturist & Jeremy Schmölzer, Architect are making a spread of wines in Beechworth and surrounds from their own burgeoning vineyard or nearby growers who let them take the reins and farm organically.
Tessa has a strong connection to the region having worked at Sorrenberg for a number of years as well as at Kooyong in Mornington giving her ample knowledge for VS&B to continue to forge an exceptional reputation amoungst Beechworth's big names.
The Brunnen Chardonnay is tightly wound, shy almost, needing some time and oxygen to release the flavours within. White peach, fennel tops, pithy citrus, honeysuckle and chalky minerals all meshed with a bullish line of tension and acidity. Lean and direct with the wet stone character of the heavy quartz throughout the vineyard. This iteration of Beechworth Chardonnay is as exciting as it is delicious with only 110 dozen made.
