Château Bélair-Monange is a Premier Grand Cru Classe in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. The estate's history dates back to the 14th century, when the Bordeaux area we know today was still under English rule. While the estate was confiscated during the French Revolution, the Canolle family managed to recover it in 1802, and named it Château Bélair. In the same year, the château became the first in Bordeaux to bottle its wine fully on site.

Over the next two centuries, the estate passed through several owners but was completely acquired in 2008 by Christian Moueix, who decided to rename it Château Bélair-Monange. Since then, Christian and his son Edouard Moeuix have made enormous investments both in the vineyards and cellar. Following the 2012 Classification of Saint-Emilion wines, the estate absorbed the 27-acre Château Madelaine, bringing together two remarkable terroirs.

Some leather and tobacco along with notes of mint and briary red fruits. There’s still modest structure and balance. The finish is fresh and bright.
