Guiberteau’s village rouge is crafted from old-vine Cabernet Franc (planted 1955-1957) on Brézé hill's silty/sandy topsoils over limestone. Made from destemmed grapes, the wine aged for 12 months in large tronconique barrels. The cool 2021 vintage offers seductive aromas of raspberry, nettle, and earthy sage, leading to a vibrant, tangy palate with savory mineral edges. The long finish reveals notes of crushed berries, meat juices, violet, and woody herbs.
