The Northern Rhone legend Auguste Clape might be more famous for his Syrah's from Cornas, but I tell you now that his Saint Peray Blanc is one of the finest examples of Marsanne & Roussanne.
A 90/10 blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, primarily from old vines. Complex and the epitome of Northern Rhône whites. The rich, round nose offers fresh apricot, peach, and pear, with a touch of spice and tang. Full-bodied on the palate, it showcases mouth-coating minerality, salty acidity, and intense viscosity, with citrus bitterness and opulent depth.
