Perhaps the most enigmatic of Cotat’s wines, Cul de Beaujeu comes from a steep, low-yielding parcel planted on ancient marl and limestone. It’s often the most textural and age-worthy of the range.
The 2022 vintage is deep and introspective, with aromas of preserved lemon, smoke, crushed oyster shell, and wild herbs. The palate is intense and layered, with citrus oil, stone fruit, and a powerful mineral spine. There’s a quiet energy here—more brooding than showy—suggesting a long life ahead.
