Arnaud Lambert is a highly regarded producer with holdings in some of the best enclaves in Saumur and Saumur-Champigny who is looking for his wines to be site specific in a similar way to that of Burgundy, deliniating his whites and reds as parcels and fermented as such, coaxing out the unique expression of place and grape.

As with all his whites this is 100% Chenin Blanc from a selection of small holdings just north of Breze in the neighbouring village of Saint Cyr en Bourg on sandy clay soil over limestone.

Whole-bunch pressed, this is fermented in stainless steel and elevaged on fine lees for about five months, with partial malolactic conversion resulting in a pure and primary Chenin that is crisply dry yet with flesh and texture to its modest weight, the crop of limestone on which it is grown laying (layering) the foundation for its length and drive.

This is exceptional quality for amazing value.
