The By Farr Viognier is crafted from two vineyards: the original house block planted in 1994, featuring red soil over limestone and sandstone, and a younger vineyard with red ironstone soil. Viognier is challenging to manage due to its horizontal growth, high water needs, and susceptibility to sunburn.
To preserve natural acidity and maintain varietal character, we’ve been picking the fruit earlier in recent years, resulting in a more delicate and refined wine.
