Catherine was a journalist before she bought her vines in the Herault, armed with a desire to return to work on the land like her parents. Newly divorced and with two young children she set about her wine making career with the help and guidance of her friend Maxime Magnon.

Catherine has often said that she wishes she could make white wine rather than red and this desire comes across in its character – great elegance and fine tannins with lots of delicate red fruit.

La Carbonelle is a blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Marselan and Cinsault from a single plot. Medium bodied with complexity and detail, soft spices and fine tannins that have settled wonderfully with extended bottle ageing.
