Established in 1855 and remarkably still almost exactly the same size generations later this is undoubtedly one of the most iconic estates in the world of wine. Chateau Margaux is a powerhouse driven by a seductive perfume and a  density that the Medoc is famed for, with a detailed and refined clarity that has made the Chateau a true icon.

Allegedly the Chateau of choice for luminaries such as Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Jefferson and even Batman.

1985 although less intense than some of the previous vintages is classed as a Margaux that has a more fruit forward bouquet and softer more feminine lines, seen by many as the quintessential Englishman's Claret vintage with all the vestiges of grace, leather and spice whilst maintaining an elegant persistence.

Still in their original crate these bottles have excellent labels and fill levels into the neck.
