Famed for its depth, intensity, tannic power and age-ability, Montrose is indeed a classic Chateau in every way. Established in 1855 on deep gravel rich slopes that sweep all the way to the river banks in a number of places, which not only helps regulate temperatures in it's many microclimates, but ventilates it in such a manner that it has always been a place of vine health and disease resistance.

Bordeaux merchants have often referred to the estate as “the Latour of Saint Estèphe,” because its wines are borderline first growth, plus having two managing directors in a row from both Haut-Brion and Mouton Rothschild helps add credence to this claim.

The earliest harvest of the decade brought about a slightly more skeletal vintage that Montrose showed very much a prettiness over its traditional core and composure.

Still in their original crate these bottles have excellent labels and fill levels into the neck.
