100% Chenin Blanc from the historic Brézé climate, with vines planted in 1933 and 1952, and one-quarter sourced from the Clos de Carmes terroir. Inspired by the Foucault brothers and modern growers like Guiberteau, this wine is aged in larger-format barrels, including thick-staved demi-muids, and spends two winters in barrels followed by six months in a tank. It showcases the power of its terroir, balancing the texture and savoury reduction of white Burgundy with the raciness of German Riesling.
Expect intense notes of white fruits, florals, minerals, and smoky reduction, with dense yet fresh flavours and a phenolic tension.
Decanting is recommended if approached young.
