Anatole de la Brosse, a man who started in enology before switching to a very succesful career as a management consultant. Clearly the wine bug never left him as he purchased a an estate with 15ha of 35 year old vines in Parnay  in Saumur-Champigny which he has switched to organic farming from day one.

True to his most recent career, he has brought in two consultants to help him establish the estate as a new force in the area, Michel Chevré formally of Roche Neuve and none other than Nady Foucault, who along with his brother Charly ran the Loire equivalent of DRC, Clos Rougeard.

Les Coudraies is selected from limestone laden tops of the hillside parcels. The cuvee is vinified and matured in stainless steel vats allowing terroir and youthful fruit purity to reign supreme. Excellent intensity and refined structure are hallmarks of this complex and elegant expression of Cabernet Franc. Can be enjoyed now but will develop wonderfully if you can hold off.

The hype around this estate is sizeable in wine circles in France, we will let you be the judge of agreeing with them or not, we just think the wines are pretty damn good.
