The Debourg family have been growing grapes in Beaujolais since 1850. Located in Saint Germain Nuelles in the Pierres Dorées region, hallway between Villefranche and Lyon.

In 2016 Jean Francois and his wife Ghislaine chose a direction change for the family business and took to vinifying their own grapes in addition to remaining a grower and selling fruit.

The shift came after meeting Burgundian winemaker Francois Ecot (L’insloent de la Bourgogne) in 2015. Converting all their vineyards to full organic viticulture, for which they were certified in 2021, Francois was to became a teacher and mentor Jean Francois who makes his wines using traditional maceration ala Burgundy rather than Carbonic maceration ala the Gang of Four

Coteaux Bourguignons (Burgundian Hills) is a regional-level appellation, covering the entire Burgundy region from the area around Auxerre down to and including southern Beaujolais.

Poised with structure and definition this is a winemakers wine.  Black and red fruits, plush yet with a finess to it, minerality and tannins intertwine to give a Beaujolais of depth and darkness owing to its classic maceration as opposed to Carbonic.

Fresh and pure this is a wine that unfurls with oxygen, Beaujolais through a Burgundian lens.
