This small Domaine is newish to Australian shores and is really on the money for quality and value. Coming from a small Clos just north of Gevrey and with links to the legendary Armand Rousseau, this wine keeps getting better year on year.
Coming off of heavy clay and with fairly traditional handling this is a fine, energetic and suitably complex package. The nose is racy and complex, with lovely notes of black cherries, forest fruits, blackberry jam and spice box aromas mixed with delicate woody notes giving it a chocolatey and spicy touch.
The palate is powerful, rich and concentrated with a lovely density but also good tension and a spray of menthol to lift the tempo nicely.
