Domaine Santa Duc has long been seen as one of the top producers in the Southern Rhone. With excellent farming and sensitive wine making the wines are packed with a depth of flavour year in year out from the the entry Cotes du Rhone through to the exceptional Chateauneuf's, The wines are known for their concentration and longevity.
Founded in 1874, The estate is currently being led by 4th generation winemaker Yves Gras and has been producing organic wines since 1985. To ensure quality, Santa Duc grapes are hand harvested, and undergo cold maceration, are fermented using indigenous yeasts and bottled without filtration.
Aux Lieux-Dits comes from a number of parcels that are raised in a mixture of oak and amphora. A floral nose filled with blackberries, black cherries and pepper.. A deep and rich palate that is medium to full in its weight but with a smooth structure and fluidity that has plenty of charm and elegance that is delicious now but will cellar well for those who can. A classic for very good reason, this wont last long.
