I know we have a lot of great Claret here at the Wine Vault but this is Clarete, a red white blend of Spain with a short maceration for the blush that is a bit of a lost art.
A few crafty kids are looking backwards to go forwards and the couple behind this Domaine have some serious chops, serving time under Albert de Villaine at Domaine de la Romanee Conti as well as years at Vega Sicilia, the plaudits coming their way are immense.
Predominately Tempranillo and Albillo with splashes of Malvasia, Grenache and a few more make for a textural delight after a long cold ferment and a long elevage. Small red fruits, a slash of fennel and some white flowers all with a tight core make for some happy drinking.
