Located not far from Reims in Villers-Aux-Noeuds, Emmanuel Brochet has has quietly gone about making quite the name for himself in the grower champagne market. These are textural and nervy Champagnes that truly show his close attention to the small details that express themselves beautifully.
He began working a portion of his family's holdings back in 1997, with his first wines released in 2002. He began organic conversion on his 2.5 hectare vineyards in 2008. He is very much of the belief that organics has lead to a richer more mineral driven expression of his vineyard.
Le Mont Benoit is a Premier Cru parcel from a small lieu dit of this name, an assemblage of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay that has full ferment and elevage in oak.
Rich, lengthy and full bodied but with plenty of detail. Mineral lines and a little earthy these are vinous champagnes for those that enjoy a little power layered over the finer racier lines. Yellow orchard fruits and a saline purity that brings drive and length to an exceptional cuvee.
