In 1983 Ian and June Marks found their vineyard site after a long search for the perfect pocket of land throughout almost every wine region in Victoria. With views of Mt Donna Buang, a backdrop of the Warburton ranges, red soil and a coveted north-easterly aspect, it is the perfect spot for cool climate winemaking.

Gembrook Hill are today one of the oldest vineyards in the Upper Yarra sub-region.

Their wines are regarded as some of the most excellent examples of the varieties in Australia and are made with an old-world winemaking mindset. The vines are mostly over 20 years of age. Gembrook Hill was one of the pacesetters in the Yarra Valley with its elegant pinot noir showing the elegance of old world Burgundy.

The wine is bright, crisp, and red-fruited, with notes of rose hip tea and pomegranate.

It's clear and clean, with super fine tannins and hints of leather and anise. This Pinot Noir is refreshing and energetic, reminiscent of Jura’s poulsard. On the edge yet fine and elegant.

A real gem.
