The wines of Descombes are held in the same regard as those of Foillard, Thevenet and Breton, excellent examples of old vine Cru Beaujolais that are full of freshness, elegance and vitality.

Descombes cold macerates his wines for a full 30 days, the end result being lithe, highly perfumed wines of clarity and great detail. Rich in colour with a heady perfume that pulls you in to bowls of strawberries, and black & red cherries. Mineral tones and juicy fruit with a tannic grip of finesse and purity that brings you back for more.

This cuvée is always so bright and fine, salivating and moreish, exceedingly easy to drink with anything from roasted duck to grilled beef thats got a nice marbling to it.
