The wines of Descombes are held in the same regard as those of Foillard, Thevenet and Breton, excellent exapmles of old vine Cru Beaujolais that are full of freshness, elegance and vitality.
Descombes cold mascerates his wines for a full 30 days, the end result being lithe, highly perfumed wines of clarity and great detail. Rich in coulour with a heady perfume that pulls you in to bowls of strwaberries, black and red cherries. Mineral tones and juicy fruit with a tanninc grip of finesse and purity that brings you back for more.
This cuvée is always so bright and fine, salivating and moreish, exceedingly easy to drink with anything from roasted duck to grilled beef thats got a nice marbling to it.
