The wines of Descombes are held in the same regard as those of Foillard, Thevenet and Breton, excellent exapmles of old vine Cru Beaujolais that are full of freshness, elegance and vitality.

Descombes cold macerates his wines for a full 30 days, the end result being lithe, highly perfumed wines of clarity and great detail.

Rich in colour with a heady perfume that pulls you in to bowls of strawberries and blackcurrants purple flowers, black pepper and citrus. Dark fruits that have a lush feel in the mouth, turned earth and excellent structure running a good length and intensity on the exit.  Trademark freshness and balance juicy and mineral toned keeping you coming back for more.
