Eric Pfifferling used to be a beekeeper, he would sell the grapes from his 4 hectare vineyard to the local cooperative; the vines had originally been bought by his grandmother. Eventually he decided to start making wine himself, a decision we can all be grateful for.
Respectful of their soils and plants, Eric is a master in the art of expressing the finesse of southern grape varieties. Very pure wines, explosive of fruit, so drinkable.
The Tavel Prima is produced by Eric's sons on two recently acquired plots. Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Clairette, keeping it lighter/fresher than the original Tavel. Bright juice, slurpy and a little savoury, Prima is a fantastic new cuvee to a Domaine already brimming with cult wines.
