Martins wines are atypical for Germany, farming organically with grasses and cover crops between his rows to stop erosion, working without synthetic treatments and inoculated yeast strains whilst elevage is in old barrels, foudres and Mosel casks. All work is done by hand, all the wines are unfiltered, unfined and without any additions. 

Under German law, Martin is unable to put the village on the label, so the rock is a nod to Flonheim and its characteristic sandstone.

This is unlike anything else from the Rheinhessen, that saline spine reminding you of a Jurasic white. There is a blush to the juice that comes from pressing the grapes slowly, there is no maceration.

Purity, highly detailed, lightly tropical with some asian spices thrown in and that spine of salt and sandstone like a razor. This loves air and becomes more delicious for being exposed to it..
