The Maurice O’Shea Shiraz is the flagship red wine for Mount Pleasant and is a blend of the best fruit available, only made in the greatest years. Taken from the Old Hill, Old Paddock, Rosehill 1946 and 1965 Vines, it is truly a complex and unique wine that typifies the grace and structure that is Hunter Valley Shiraz.

A return to form after a drought affected vintage the year prior, a lifted nose of dark plums, spices, soft leather and earth. Robust fruit that is now moving through its softening stages, the vigour of youth turning more supple and the palate finer in its elegance. The rounder notes of French oak sitting harmoniously into the wine along side fine tannins and an extraordinary length.

As always a culmination of old vines and deep tradition making for a truly spectacular wine with all its history bound into every bottle.
