Partida Creus is a project that has the very humble beginnings of the search of a more engaged life at a slower pace. Hailing from Piedmont,Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa found a small farm in Baixa Penedes that would allow them to return to an agricultural lifestyle that they grew up in, with an easy commute to Barcelona for their professional endeavours.
Little did they know that a small abandoned vineyard on their property would propel them front and centre of the Biodynamic wine movement.
Ull de Llebre is an old indigenous Catalan clone of Tempranillo.
This particular bottling is a rather special, coming from one older barrique only, selected by the importer at the bodega for Australia, yielding only 360 bottles.
A wine of structure and depth. It has a core of dark fruit supported by freshness and feathery fine tannins. Its fluid, there is soft herbs and hints of mint that dance with plump blue fruit, the palate displays elegance and wonderful length. A beautiful wine suited for the cooler weathered months, and one that I will be putting in the cellar.
