Talking to Pedro Parra about winemaking is a uniquely fascinating experience. An expert in terroir, Pedro spends much of his life travelling around the globe working as a consultant for some of the wine world’s greats (Liger-Belair, Jean-Marc Roulot, Commando G). In 2013, he took his expertise home with him to Chile and began producing some truly profound and unique wines.

Pedro has delineated four ‘crus’ around the Itata Valley according to their soil type and named them after jazz musicians the wines remind him of. This, named after Thelonious Monk, is the most direct and strong of the wines produced. It displays notes of red rose, bitter herbs, sour cherry, and a wonderful mineral character while remaining light on its feet.
