Champagne Philippe Lancelot is a small grower based in the Cote de Blancs with their original holdings in Cramant, Chouilly, Oiry and Avize, as well as in Epernay and Ay later down the line all of which are Grand Cru rated

Started in the 70's by his parents, Philippe took over the domaine in 2010 and 2012 converted to fully organic practices.

This is 100% Chardonnay from their holdings in  Cramant from vines planted in 1951 and 1989. Philippe utilizes multiple tiny lieu-dit vineyards in Cramant totaling only 1.25ha that feature deep chalky soils and marl. The vineyards are Les Basses Croix, Les Porgeons, Les Fourches du Levant, Les Champs du Prevot, Les Hautes Bauves, Les Hautes Bauves Vieille, Les Moyens du Levant, and Le Bateau.

Pale gold to the eye with a tight and vibrant perlage, the nose is white flowers and quickly gives way to notes of yellow and ripe fruits with a few spice notes. The palate has great tension and crispness at the core which slowly opens to a beautiful textures of fleshy orchard fruits and modest creamy note on the mid-palate. The finale i slong and pure, fanning out with minerals and a poised lengthy acidity.

Outstanding.
