The Rousseaux family has been working a small Grand Cru vineyard since the 18th century, in Verzenay. 

Current head of the estate, Adrien, is a 4th generation winemaker and has been managing the estate since 2012. He works with 2.6ha and does not use herbicides or insecticides. He vinifies each parcel separately to create powerful, expressive and ageworthy wines that are made from juice from the first pressing 'Coeur de Cuvee'.

This is old vined Pinot Noir planted back in 1961 that has spent three years on lees. Hazelnut and a little salted caramel on the nose along with some strawberry and forest fruits. Its rich and voluminous in the mouth, this really opens up with air, a chalky minerality layered through the salted buttery palate thats tinged with apple and pear. Textural and concentrated this is supremely vinous and will benefit from being served in a large glass.

This Champagne is a real tour de force.
