The wines of Fraser Mckinley are a unique take on a revered and time honoured place and its hero grape varietal, Shiraz. Highly regarded, Frasers story has grown to such a point that his client list is maxed out, these regal old vines he works can only produce so many coveted bottles each vintage.
Working almost exclusively from the revered Hoffmann Vineyard Fraser has reinterpreted the possibilities of what the Barossa can be and the story it can tell, drawing on his background in fine arts to aid this vision and tell his part. He also has his own small parcel of vines that make the Our Hill cuvee each year.
Sourced from small plots of vines (some significantly old), which he tends with organic principles, his wines are made using only whole bunches, with no adds bar a touch of sulphur.
Blending is how Fraser tells his story, pulling the components of these remarkable parcels together is more important to him than vintage or varietal, hence these details are obscured or just not there on his labels.
Little Wine #13 is comprised of An unvintaged assemblage composed of casks from 2023 (27%), 2022 (36%), 2021 (19%), 2020 (7%), 2019 (6%), 2018 (2%), 2017 (1%), 2016 (1%) & 2015 (1%).
