Thomas and Charlotte Carsin started this outstanding domaine in Anjou Noir back in 2008 after working around the world as vineyard consultants who specialise in organics.

Purchasing Clos de L’Elu, a 20 hectare site in the Layon Valley near Chaume, they set about a full conversion of the estate, whilst at the same time, stepping away from the predominant sweet wines of the area they focused on dry chenin and suite of excellent reds based in Cabernet Franc and Pineau d'Aunis. The revitalised vineyards have vindicated all of their hard work turning out exceptional wines that are pure and expressive of both grape and place.

Bastinage is a blend of three different parcels that are all vinfied and elevaged seperatley.A deep and complex nose, revealed by buttery aromas. The attack is ample and fatty. On the palate, a superb minerality very emblematic of the black schist on which it is grown. 

Vibrant, textural and pure, this is truly a wine for the table with its nuance and complexity that will have you thinking about it for days after.
