Thomas and Charlotte Carsin started this outstanding domaine in Anjou Noir back in 2008 after working around the world as vineyard consultants who specialise in organics.

Purchasing Clos de L’Elu, a 20 hectare site in the Layon Valley near Chaume, they set about a full conversion of the estate, whilst at the same time, stepping away from the predominant sweet wines of the area they focused on dry chenin and suite of excellent reds based in Cabernet Franc and Pineau d'Aunis. The revitalised vineyards have vindicated all of their hard work turning out exceptional wines that are pure and expressive of both grape and place.

This Cabernet Franc is what we look for, bright and fine, slippery and delicious. Snappy red fruits with a cool fruited juiciness to it with fresh acidity. Fine savoury edge, lightly herbal and soft powdery tannin that is the hallmark of great cabernet franc. Lengthy and voluminous without being overblown, serve cool but not cold as the weather changes to cooler nights and heartier fare.
