Thomas and Charlotte Carsin started this outstanding domaine in Anjou Noir back in 2008 after working around the world as vineyard consultants who specialise in organics.

Purchasing Clos de L’Elu, a 20 hectare site in the Layon Valley near Chaume, they set about a full conversion of the estate, whilst at the same time, stepping away from the predominant sweet wines of the area they focused on dry chenin and suite of excellent reds based in Cabernet Franc and Pineau d'Aunis. The revitalised vineyards have vindicated all of their hard work turning out exceptional wines that are pure and expressive of both grape and place.

This is a new cuvee for Thomas and Charlotte that has a minuscule yield. Flavours of quince and apricot layered with spice and excellent phenolyics and just a little grip from the newer oak that is used. White flowers and a little marmalade and a nervy tension that takes this wine of extraordinary depth and carries it long and fine on the palate.
