Thomas and Charlotte Carsin started this outstanding domaine in Anjou Noir back in 2008 after working around the world as vineyard consultants who specialise in organics.
Purchasing Clos de L’Elu, a 20 hectare site in the Layon Valley near Chaume, they set about a full conversion of the estate, whilst at the same time, stepping away from the predominant sweet wines of the area they focused on dry chenin and suite of excellent reds based in Cabernet Franc and Pineau d'Aunis. The revitalised vineyards have vindicated all of their hard work turning out exceptional wines that are pure and expressive of both grape and place.
A unique blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc both of older vine age over schist and quartz, whole bunches slowly pressed and elevaged on fine lees. Savoury and bright, filled with pears, fennel and almond notes, slightly fuller of body but with a fresh saline mineral wash that keeps it bright and clean.
