Tyrell's is a multi-generational wine growing dynasty that has helped create the wine making landscape of not only the Hunter Valley but Australia at large. Blessed with some amazingly old vines that are planted in exceptional sites working tirelessly through the generations to achieve a true and consistent style that holds its place on the world stage as wines of typicity.

The premium range of wines in the Vat number series first started to appear in the sixties and is now spearheaded by the iconic trio of Vat 1 Semillon, Vat 47 Chardonnay and the Vat 9 Shiraz that are a blend of their best parcels.

The Vat 9 Shiraz is a classic medium bodied Hunter Red that that has always been crafted to go the distance. Supple fruit that has elegance and structure that shows vigour and restraint in their youth and a seamless supple fluidity when aged. Red fruits, soft leather, earth and spice are the hallmarks here whilst the steadfast use of large vats to keep the fruit pristine and the oak at bay make this a right stunner as the years go by.
